Welcome to the Famous Alva Games for the 152nd time!
Alva Games are the last surviving sports and games to be run in Clackmannanshire. Don't forget to print the voucher and take it along with you to redeem a free lollipop for each child when you purchase their ticket!
Now celebrating their 152nd renewal, always held on the second Saturday in July and the highlight of the summer's events in the county, the games feature the full range of traditional events including athletics, cycling, highland dancing, heavy weight events and the crowning glory of games day, the four hill races run over Torry for competitors from under 12 all the way up to the British Championship Hill Race run at about 4.15pm.
The traditional fair operates every evening from the Wednesday prior to the games from 6pm until 10pm daily and on games day itself from 12 noon.
Our youth five a side football tournament has now made a hugely successful return to the games field on the Thursday prior to the Games.
The 152nd Famous Alva Games will be held on Saturday 12th July 2008 at 12.30pm in the Johnstone Park, Alva. Adult Entry is £5.00; Children/Senior Citizens is £2.00 and the Car Park charge is £2.00.
